This trip is a Siamese Heritage Protection Program study trip to visit three remarkable mosques in Thonburi on Saturday 25, February 2012. This trip will be conducted in English.

The 15 year old riverside capital city “Krung Thonburi” (1767-1782) is like a seam of Ayutthaya and Ratanakosin era. However, in Thonburi there still remains the diversity of living culture and tradition which can be found in “Kadee” (the old word that local people use for mosque). On this trip we will find a history and prosperity trail of cultural diversity and tradition in Kadee Bang Luang, Kadee Tonson, and Kadee Charoen Phat, three remarkable mosques in Thonburi.

The group will meet at Kalayanamitr temple at 08:00 a.m. Our trip leader will explain the background of the area from 08:10 - 08:30. After that, the group will proceed to Kadee Bang Lung and Kadee Tonson. Before leaving Kadee Tonson at 10:00 a.m., we will try “Hrum” traditional Muslim desserts with hot tea. Then, we will visit Kadee Charoen Phat and end the program here at 12:10.
